Get involved
L'Arche is a an incredibly diverse community. Its members are from all walks of life - every nationality, a range of abilities, differing faiths, volunteers, employee and friends. What unites us is a recognition that these relationships and these differences are all equally needed and valued. Work for us
Working for L'Arche is an extraordinary and life giving experience. You will find opportunities to truely walk alongside people as they journey through their own life, to provide life-enhancing care that allows people to live their life fully and to learn both professional skills and a very human touch.
We're currently recruiting for assistants to join us NOW!
If you would like to apply to become an assistant:
- Read our page on becoming an assistant.
- Request an application pack. You will receive an email within 48 hours containing the application pack.
Once you have completed the application form and returned it to us, we will assess your application and make contact with you to discuss what will happen next. If we have no vacancy at the time, we will contact you to discuss passing your application on to another community on the UK.

Become a friend

Friends of the houses play an important role in the community - they're often people who live near to the houses and offer loyal and constant friendship not only to the people with learning disabilities who live there, but to the assistants themselves.
